Peter K. Chiang, M.D.
Dr. Chiang, a native of Montville, N.J., received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, M.D. in 1995. He returned to New Jersey to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). This was followed by an internship at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. In 1999, Dr. Chiang returned for his ophthalmology residency training at the UMDNJ - Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. He is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Chiang is a highly-skilled surgeon specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He has extensive experience with premium or advanced technology IOL(intraocular lens) implants, including the AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® and Toric IOL; and the Tecnis® Multifocal and Toric IOL. He was also one of the first in the region to perform laser-assisted cataract surgery using the femto-second laser, currently the most advanced form of cataract surgery. He also performs LASIK, LASEK, epi-LASIK, PRK, and Advanced Surface Treatment. Dr. Chiang is familiar with the latest developments and newest surgical techniques of the field to help patients see clearer and lose their dependence on glasses and contacts.
